Best business card scanner apps in 2026

An honest list of the best business card scanner apps in 2026 for iPhone and Android: platforms, languages, CRM sync and published prices.

Ondřej Malík9 min read

The short answer: The best business card scanner app depends on where the card should end up. For a few cards, Google Lens or the free HubSpot app is enough. For teams that scan cards and event badges and want each lead in the CRM with full company data, pick a lead capture app such as Swopi, Popl or Blinq.

In 2026 there are many business card scanner apps, and some well known names have changed or gone. Microsoft Lens was retired this year, and ABBYY now sells its reader for iPhone only. Below we compare 12 options on the things that matter after the scan: which phones they run on, which languages they read, where the data goes and what they cost. Prices are copied from each vendor's own page in September 2026. They change, so always check the link.

What does a business card scanner app do?

A business card scanner app takes a photo of a card, reads the text and splits it into fields: name, job title, company, email, phone, address and website. Good apps also save the card image, let you add a note, and send the contact somewhere useful. The reading part is now similar across most apps. The real differences are in what happens next.

  • Where the contact goes: only your phone contacts, a CSV file, or straight into a CRM such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Languages and scripts: cards from Japan, China, Greece or the Middle East need an app that reads those scripts and puts first and last name in the right order.
  • Badges and QR codes: at a trade show, most people have a badge, not a card. Some apps read both.
  • Team features: shared lead lists, admin control, one bill for the whole team.
  • Data after the scan: some apps add company size, industry, LinkedIn profile and a verified email. This is called lead enrichment.
  • Privacy: where the data is stored and if the vendor signs a data processing agreement (DPA). This matters in the EU.

The business card scanner apps one by one

Swopi

Swopi is an AI lead capture app for events and in-person sales, made in the EU. One app scans paper business cards in any language, event badges and QR codes such as LinkedIn or vCard. With Swopi AI, each lead gets a verified business email, phone, job title, LinkedIn profile and company data, checked against 20+ data providers and business registries. The lead then lands in your CRM as native fields. See the card scanner for details.

CamCard

CamCard by INTSIG is one of the oldest card scanner apps. Its pricing page lists unlimited scanning, Excel import and export, an open API and sync with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, SugarCRM, Google Contacts and Outlook. The team version is priced on request. It is a strong choice if you mostly scan paper cards and want a long track record.

Covve Scan

Covve says its scanner reads 60+ languages and regional formats and can handle several languages on one card. The pricing page shows Essential at $12 per seat per month with Outlook, Google Contacts and Zapier. Event badge scanning and custom fields start at Pro, and native CRM sync is an add-on or part of Enterprise. Covve is good for people who care most about clean scans.

Business Card Reader by ABBYY

ABBYY is known for text recognition. Its Business Card Reader page lists 25 languages, including Czech, Polish, Greek, Japanese and Korean, and export to Salesforce Leads, Outlook, Google Contacts and CSV. The same page says the Android versions were discontinued, so today it is an iPhone and iPad app.

Google Lens

Google Lens is free. Its Play Store listing says it can save a business card to your contacts. It is fine for one card at a time. There is no CRM sync, no notes, no team list and no event tag, so it does not scale to a trade show.

HubSpot mobile app

HubSpot has a free card scanner inside its mobile app for iOS and Android. You tap create contact, point the camera at the card and HubSpot maps the text to contact properties. If your team lives in HubSpot and only scans cards, this is hard to beat on price. It does not help with event badges or other CRMs.

Salesforce options

Salesforce says in its help article that it does not have built-in support for scanning business cards. It suggests CSV import, Outlook sync or an AppExchange app. Several scanner vendors offer Salesforce apps, including CamCard, ScanBizCards and Sansan. Check that the app writes to the object you use (Lead or Contact) and fills your custom fields.

Blinq

Blinq started as a digital business card app and now sells event lead capture too. Its event page says you can scan any badge, business card or QR code, and that enrichment uses 25+ live data providers. Native CRMs include HubSpot, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho, monday.com and Marketo. The Business plan price is published, which makes it easy to budget.

HiHello

HiHello's scanner page covers paper cards, event badges, QR codes and screens. The free Personal plan includes 5 scans a month, and Business has unlimited scans with Salesforce, HubSpot and Dynamics sync. It is a low cost option for small teams.

Popl

Popl describes itself as the #1 digital business card platform for teams, and it is one of the best known names in event lead capture. Its badge scanner page says one app scans event badges, paper business cards and QR codes, enriches the data and syncs to 30+ tools, including Salesforce, HubSpot and Marketo. Popl lists SOC 2 Type 2 security and a dedicated success manager. Pricing is only given in a meeting.

ScanBizCards

ScanBizCards offers something rare: human transcription. The pricing page shows a free plan, and Sales Ninja at $100 per user per year with conference badge scanning, CRM export and 100 human transcriptions per user each year. Human checks help with cards that are hard to read.

Business cards vs event badges: why it matters

If you scan at trade shows, cards are only part of the story. Most visitors wear a badge, and many do not carry cards anymore. A badge usually shows only a name, a company and sometimes a job title and country. The QR code on the badge is often locked, so only the organiser's rented scanner can read it.

  • A card scanner reads the printed text on a card: name, title, email, phone. It works when people bring cards.
  • A badge scanner reads the printed name and company on a badge, or the badge QR code if it is open. It works for almost every visitor.
  • A badge gives less data. Without an email or phone, you need enrichment to find the business email, title and company details.
  • One app for both means one lead list, one event tag and one CRM sync, instead of a card app plus a rented scanner.

If events are your main use, read our guide on how to scan event badges into your CRM before you pick a card scanner.

Which business card scanner app should you choose?

  • You scan a few cards a month for yourself: Google Lens or the free plan of HiHello.
  • Your whole team uses HubSpot and you only scan cards: the HubSpot mobile app.
  • You want the best reading of paper cards and export to Outlook or CSV: Covve Scan, CamCard or ABBYY.
  • You go to trade shows and need cards, badges and QR codes in one place: an event lead capture app such as Swopi, Popl or Blinq.
  • You work in the EU and need data hosted in the EU with a DPA: check each vendor's security page before you sign.

How this works in Swopi

You open the Swopi app on your iPhone or Android and point it at a card, a badge or a QR code. Swopi reads it in any language. Swopi AI then adds the verified email, phone, job title, LinkedIn profile and company data, and gives a buying intent score. The lead appears in your CRM as a contact or lead with the event name attached. Nobody types anything. You can try it on the Free plan with 5 AI scans, and paid plans have a 14-day free trial. See pricing.

What is the best free business card scanner app?

For a few cards, Google Lens and the HubSpot mobile app are free. HiHello and Swopi have free plans with a small number of scans. Free apps usually do not include CRM sync for teams or enrichment.

Can I scan business cards with my iPhone camera without an app?

Partly. Live Text in the iPhone Camera app can read a phone number or email on a card and offer Add to Contacts. You still type the name, title and company yourself.

Which business card scanner app reads the most languages?

Covve says 60+ languages and ABBYY lists 25. Swopi reads cards in any language. Many other vendors do not publish a list, so test a few of your own foreign cards during the trial.

What replaced Microsoft Lens for business cards?

Microsoft retired Lens in 2026 and points users to scanning in the OneDrive app. That scans documents, not contacts. To get cards into Outlook, use a scanner app that syncs with Outlook or exports a CSV or vCard.

Do business card scanner apps work for event badges?

Some do. Swopi, Popl, Blinq, HiHello and the Pro plan of Covve list badge scanning. Plain card apps only read printed text and may miss badge details.
