The official lead service

The visitor badge

Web Summit attendees get a QR code in the Web Summit app. It is used for check in, for collecting the badge and lanyard, and for swapping contact details with other attendees (Web Summit support). Swopi reads the printed name and company and any QR code.

How to get more from your stand at Web Summit

  • Tag investors, startups and buyers

    The 2025 edition had 2,725 startups and 1,857 investors among 71,386 attendees (EC IP Helpdesk, Web Summit). Many people at your stand may be founders and investors, not buyers. One tag per lead keeps the follow up honest and useful.

  • Ask people to show their app QR code

    Attendees can share contact details by letting another attendee scan the QR code in the app (Web Summit support). Any QR code can be scanned by Swopi, and Swopi AI then adds the verified business email and company data.

  • Keep the scan short, then talk

    The programme has 32 content tracks (Web Summit), so people move between stages all day. Scan first, so you never lose the contact, and talk after that.

  • Mind the time zone

    Lisbon is one hour behind Central Europe in November. If your leads come from the US or Asia, schedule follow-up emails to land in the morning of their time zone.

  • Follow up before the end of November

    The show ends on Thursday 12 November. A lead that hears from you within one week still remembers the show. After a month it is harder. Write your notes each evening so the emails are quick to finish.
